Magnetic Gear Technology – Transmission Without Contact

A new approach to mechanical power transmission.

Magnetic Gear Technology (MGT) uses magnetic forces to transmit torque without direct mechanical contact between the driving and driven components.

Unlike conventional mechanical gears, MGT systems eliminate physical contact between gear teeth, reducing mechanical wear and the need for lubrication within the magnetic gear mechanism.

From water pumps and agricultural machinery to industrial equipment and energy applications, MGT technology offers exciting opportunities to improve the way power is transmitted.

The Gallery Farm is an authorised MGT distributor and demonstration centre on the Mid North Coast of NSW, showcasing the technology through practical, real-world applications.

Our focus is on supplying MGT pumps, magnetic gears and couplings, as well as exploring opportunities to integrate the technology into existing equipment.

MGT Products & Technology

Innovative magnetic drive solutions for a wide range of applications.

MGT technology can be incorporated into new equipment or adapted for existing machinery, offering an alternative to conventional mechanical power transmission.

MGT Water Pumps

The MGT30 is a compact, portable water pump featuring magnetic drive technology, an integrated rechargeable lithium battery, solar charging capability and Wi-Fi remote control.

Designed for agriculture, livestock watering, remote water transfer and off-grid applications, the MGT30 offers a flexible pumping solution that can operate independently of mains electricity.

With the ability to recharge using solar power, the MGT30 is particularly suited to remote locations where conventional electrical infrastructure is unavailable or impractical.

Larger MGT pump configurations are also being developed for applications requiring greater flow and pressure.

Magnetic Gears

MGT magnetic gears transmit torque through magnetic interaction rather than direct contact between conventional gear teeth.

This approach reduces mechanical wear and opens opportunities for applications where reliability, reduced maintenance and separation between driving and driven components are important.

Magnetic Couplings

MGT magnetic couplings transfer rotational power without direct mechanical contact between the driving and driven components.

They offer potential advantages in equipment where conventional shaft connections, mechanical seals or maintenance requirements present challenges.

Equipment Upgrades & Integration

MGT technology is not limited to newly manufactured equipment.

There are opportunities to integrate magnetic gears and couplings into existing pumps, machinery and industrial equipment, subject to technical assessment and compatibility.

MGT Technology Across Industries

Transmission Without Contact – Expanding the Possibilities

Magnetic Gear Technology offers opportunities across a wide range of industries where conventional mechanical gears, couplings and drive systems are used.

By transmitting torque through magnetic forces rather than direct mechanical contact, MGT technology provides an alternative approach to power transmission, with the potential to reduce wear, maintenance requirements and reliance on lubrication.

Agriculture

From water pumping and irrigation to agricultural machinery and equipment, MGT technology offers opportunities to improve mechanical drive systems in demanding rural environments.

Water & Pumping

Magnetic drive technology can be incorporated into pumping applications, including livestock water supply, irrigation, remote water transfer and industrial fluid handling.

Energy & Power Generation

Magnetic gears and couplings offer potential applications in energy generation, power transmission and renewable energy equipment where reliability and mechanical efficiency are important considerations.

Mining & Heavy Industry

Non-Contact Magnetic Gears – Reducing Mechanical Spark Risks

MGT's new magnetic gear technology offers exciting possibilities for mining and heavy industrial applications, particularly in environments where mechanical wear, friction and potential ignition sources are major concerns.

Unlike conventional gears, magnetic gears transmit torque without physical contact between the gear teeth, eliminating tooth-to-tooth friction and the associated risk of mechanical sparking at that interface.

This technology offers potential advantages for mining equipment, conveyors, pumps and other industrial drive systems where reliability, reduced maintenance and operational safety are important.

MGT magnetic gears also provide opportunities to reduce lubrication requirements and mechanical wear in demanding operating environments.

An innovative approach to contactless power transmission with reduced gear-tooth sparking risks.

Food, Beverage & Pharmaceutical

Contactless torque transmission offers potential advantages in specialised processing equipment where equipment cleanliness, maintenance and isolation between drive components are important.

Aerospace & Space Technology

Magnetic gearing principles are relevant to advanced engineering applications where contactless power transmission, reliability and reduced mechanical wear are desirable.

MGT is exploring opportunities for its technology across specialised engineering and aerospace applications.

Technology Integration & Development

MGT technology is not limited to any single industry.

We welcome enquiries from manufacturers, equipment suppliers, engineers and businesses interested in exploring magnetic gears and couplings for new products or existing machinery.

Discover how MGT technology could be applied to your equipment or industry.

Experience MGT at The Gallery Farm

Where Innovation Meets the Land

Located at Collombatti on the Mid North Coast of NSW, The Gallery Farm is developing a dedicated MGT Technology Demonstration Centre, bringing innovative magnetic gear technology into a practical, working agricultural environment.

As an authorised MGT distributor, our vision is to demonstrate how magnetic gears, couplings and pumping technology can be incorporated into real-world applications, from agricultural water management to machinery and industrial equipment.

Our MGT Showroom

We are transforming part of our existing farm machinery shed into a dedicated MGT showroom and demonstration space.

The showroom will feature magnetic gears, couplings, pumping equipment, product displays and technical information, allowing visitors to explore the technology and understand its potential applications.

Designed to combine the character of our working farm with modern engineering innovation, the space will continue to evolve as new MGT products and technologies become available.

Working Pump Demonstrations

Our first major demonstration project is the MGT30 portable water pump, which will be used to demonstrate water transfer from our farm dam.

The MGT30 features magnetic drive technology, integrated battery power, solar charging capability and Wi-Fi remote control, providing a practical example of off-grid pumping technology.

Future demonstrations are planned to include larger MGT pumping systems, magnetic drive configurations and integration with our farm water infrastructure.

Farm Technology & Monitoring

The Gallery Farm is also developing a connected farm monitoring network incorporating water storage levels, pump operation, flow monitoring and other environmental and agricultural data.

As these systems are installed, they will provide opportunities to demonstrate how MGT equipment can operate alongside modern farm monitoring and automation technology.

Beyond Water Pumping

Our long-term vision extends beyond pumps.

We intend to explore practical applications for MGT magnetic gears and couplings in agricultural machinery and other mechanical drive systems, demonstrating how contactless power transmission could be integrated into existing equipment.

A Demonstration Centre That Continues to Grow

The Gallery Farm is a working cattle property, and our MGT demonstration centre is being developed progressively.

As new equipment arrives and installations are completed, we will continue expanding the displays and practical demonstrations.

Our goal is to create a place where farmers, engineers, equipment manufacturers and industry representatives can experience MGT technology, discuss potential applications and explore opportunities for future development.
