Live accelerated endurance testing simulating real farm-house water system operation.
Status: FAILED / REPLACED
Equivalent Service Life: 2.31 Years
Pump Starts Achieved: 67,357
Water Transferred: 2,610,120 L
Runtime Hours Achieved: 2,189.1 hrs
Failure Summary:
Pump developed a persistent shaft seal leak resulting in pressure loss and frequent cycling. Unit removed from service immediately upon leak detection in accordance with endurance test rules.

Pump Starts Achieved: 89,682
Water Transferred: 3,475,198 L
Runtime Hours Achieved: 2,914.7 hrs
Failure Summary:
Pump began experiencing bearing noise and vibration under normal operating pressure. Flow output reduced progressively over several duty cycles before removal from service.
Repairable: Yes
Estimated Repair Cost: AU$250–$400
Action Taken: Pump removed from test rig and replaced with new standard test pump.
Status: FAILED / REPLACED
Equivalent Service Life: 2.20 Years
Pump Starts Achieved: 64,231
Water Transferred: 2,488,953 L
Runtime Hours Achieved: 2,087.5 hrs
Failure Summary:
Pressure controller failure resulted in irregular start/stop operation and inability to maintain stable system pressure. Unit classified as failed and removed from service.
Repairable: No economical repair recommended
Estimated Replacement Cost: AU$400–$550
Action Taken: Pump removed from test rig and replaced with new standard test pump.

The MGT Real-World Duty Cycle Test has been designed to simulate realistic farm-house water system operation under accelerated testing conditions.
Rather than simply running continuously, the system constantly cycles through realistic stop/start operating conditions similar to those experienced in everyday residential, agricultural and irrigation applications.
The purpose of the test is to simulate years of real-world use in a compressed timeframe while continuously monitoring operational reliability, runtime performance and total pump cycling activity.
The test simulates a typical farm-house water system including:
Estimated simulated daily usage profile:
Estimated daily operating totals:
The accelerated testing model allows multiple years of equivalent real-world operation to be simulated within a significantly reduced timeframe while maintaining realistic operating behaviour and stop/start cycling patterns.

Water pressure systems are something most farms, homes and accommodation businesses simply expect to work — until they don’t.
For many property owners, a pump failure does not just mean replacing a piece of equipment. It can mean no showers, no household water pressure, no livestock water supply, guest disruption, emergency trips to town for replacement pumps and losing valuable time reinstalling and recommissioning systems.
In many real-world situations, failed pumps are rarely repaired immediately. The priority is restoring water supply as quickly as possible, which often results in complete pump replacement rather than repair.
This endurance platform has been designed to demonstrate not only pump runtime and performance, but also the operational realities of long-term pressure system ownership including downtime, replacement frequency, maintenance events and total lifecycle reliability under continuous real-world duty cycle simulation.
