MGT Pump

The MGT Real-World Duty Cycle Test has been designed to simulate realistic farm-house water system operation under accelerated testing conditions.

Rather than simply running continuously, the system constantly cycles through realistic stop/start operating conditions similar to those experienced in everyday residential, agricultural and irrigation applications.

The purpose of the test is to simulate years of real-world use in a compressed timeframe while continuously monitoring operational reliability, runtime performance and total pump cycling activity.

The test simulates a typical farm-house water system including:

  • Household water supply 
  • Toilets 
  • Kitchen & bathroom taps 
  • Showers 
  • Washing machine use 
  • Dishwasher use 
  • Header tank refill from dam 
  • Cattle trough top-ups (approx. 20 head) 
  • Garden irrigation system (20m x 20m) 

Estimated simulated daily usage profile:

  • Toilet flush cycles — 15 cycles/day 
  • Kitchen & bathroom tap usage — 25 cycles/day 
  • Shower usage — 4 cycles/day 
  • Washing machine cycles — 6 cycles/day 
  • Dishwasher cycles — 4 cycles/day 
  • Header tank refills — 2 cycles/day 
  • Cattle trough top-ups — 8 cycles/day 
  • Garden irrigation cycles — 6 cycles/day 

Estimated daily operating totals:

  • Approx. 80 pump starts per day 
  • Approx. 2,500–3,500 litres transferred per day 
  • Approx. 2.5–3 hours equivalent runtime per day 

The accelerated testing model allows multiple years of equivalent real-world operation to be simulated within a significantly reduced timeframe while maintaining realistic operating behaviour and stop/start cycling patterns.
